Motorcycle safety is indeed the heart of the industry and carries great significance considering the stereotypes surrounding its dangers and the fact that it is prone to accidents. With the introduction of antilock brakes and multistage traction control, the safety of the bikes are garnering much confidence. In fact, bikes these days even have built-in airbags to help soften crash if the ABS and TC fail to help you. This time, Bosch is aiming to take it up a notch by coming up with an anti-slide technology.
The Bosch technology is good for situations where riders are about to lean over in a turn and the corner is piled with sand. In circumstances like this, the wheels will start washing out and most riders anticipate a low side crash but this anti-slide mechanism will vent pressurized gas to counteract the slide and helps riders enjoy a smooth turning.
The high-pressure gas from the nozzle helps provide motive force. The Bosch mechanism works the same way. The system uses a device similar to the airbag inflator in a car to provide an external lateral force when the tires have no more grip to give.
This anti-slide technology would help increase the safety of the bikes and change the public’s perception of it. This helps in a way that it gives room for consideration for people to take up bikes as a means of transportation.
