The wait is over as the new Triumph Speed Triple is finally here! The original Speed Triple was launched in 1994 and was very much the popular one amongst the street-fighters. The bike has made its way to an upgraded dimension with more advanced and improved settings with the new Street Triple S and RS.
The new bikes come with a new engine and despite being in the same 1050 capacity range, the insides of the engine are absolutely different, with overall 105 new parts. It is now a free revving engine that’s quicker to spin up and has a 1,000 rpm higher rev limit. It is capable of producing 148 bhp and the new combustion chambers delivers a peak torque of 86ftlb.
The new engine also is much better with a free flowing exhaust system which comes with a larger catalytic converter and redesigned headers. The RS model features Arrow cans and the engine screams louder in this one. The gearbox is enhanced alongside the slip assist clutch to provide much smoother handling.
Not to mention, it comes with a new 5” TFT dash which depicts the rider modes and throttle settings. It is controlled by the switches on the handlebar. The bike also have a cruise control, USB charging point and Daytime Running Lights. The RS model gives the riders an extra keyless steering lock and ignition system.
The difference between the S and the RS is that the latter gets a higher spec finish and a carbon fibre mudguard and body panels. It also has a releasable pillion seat cowl. The Speed Triple S comes in Jet Black and Crystal White whereas the RS comes in Crystal White and Matt Jet Black.
