Bandit9 has definitely succumbed to a world of its own and has named its new bike ‘Dark Side’, bringing about high quality performance with a remarkable aesthetic with uniqueness.
The Vietnam-based firm has long designed its bikes based on inspiration from films and comics, combining the bikes with a concept with a captivating vibe.
“Most of our work spawn s from sci-fi films and comics,” said Bandit9’s founder Daryl Villanueva.
“We’d rather design bikes that fit in at Comic-Con than any motorcycle expo.”
The Dark Side is said to be derived from a Harley-Davidson Street 750. It features the RevX engine, which was created in a collaboration with Porsche. The bike comes with a liquid-cooled V-twin delivers up to 57.6 hp and 43 ft lbs of torque alongside a 6-speed manual transmission.
“The unibody seamlessly unifies what would normally be separate parts, including the tank, seat, and rear cowl,” added Villanueva.
One of the hardest part of the process was the aircraft-influenced bodywork handcrafted from one piece of stainless steel in order to protect the power train.
“It’s bulbous in the front and rectangular in the back- talk about fitting a round peg in a square hole. We did it over and over until we found a way to make it right.”
The components of the bike are also impressive with its 2 into 1 Vance & Hines Competition Series exhaust, a hand-built radiator cover and its 16-inch spoked rims dressed in Dunlop tires. Furthermore, it has an LED headlight with 150-per cent more powerful than normal halogen, so that when it hits the dark, the bike gives out ample light to guide the rider.
“I wanted the Dark Side to have a particular emotional quality- the operative word was ‘operatic’. I’m incredibly proud of my team. The Dark Side’s scale is dominating, the sound is intimidating, and its shape and finish are out of this world.”
Only nine examples of this bike will be built!
