Lifelong passion for bikes to be displayed at vintage motorcycle show

For some people, motorcycles are more than just an interest, it is a lifelong passion. As for Kevin Misner, he is of the latter- motorcycles are what he enjoys the most.
Misner’s passion blossomed from the day he saw a 1973 Kawasaki 90 with a 2-stroke engine for sale on e-bay. Despite it being a little run-down, he managed to polish it and get it back to shape. Also, according to him, the hardest parts to find were the rubber seals and gaskets.

“Most of the work was just polishing, but it also needed a new clutch and carburetor and the gas tank needed to be cleaned up and sealed,” he said.
“Fortunately, there are lots of people online who have spare parts for sale, so I was able to replace everything.”
Another bike to his collection is the 1974 Indian 100, manufactured in Asia under the Indian name due to the fact that the original Indian factory stopped production in 1952. Misner also has a lot of bikes waiting for restoration, including a 1965 Suzuki MD 50.

“I also have a Kawasaki 250 in storage. I don’t know if I’ll ever find the parts to put it back together, but I keep hoping,” he said.
Misner plans on displaying both his bikes in the fourth Western Nebraska Vintage Motorcycle Show in August 20-21 on Avenue B in Scottsbluff. The requirement is that the bikes must be over 30 years old.
“The show is a fun time for riders,” said Kevin Misner.
“We like to share stories on the rare bikes we’ve found and how we got parts for them.”
