Aleix Espargaro’s Valencia Grand Prix ended prematurely after an unfortunate incident on the starting grid. Contact with Franco Morbidelli caused damage to Espargaro’s Honda RC213V, immediately affecting his race performance.

Despite the setback, Espargaro continued to push the limits, striving to secure points for the Honda HRC Test Team. The determination demonstrated throughout the race reflected the rider’s resilience and the team’s hard work, even as the mechanical issues ultimately forced him to retire.

Speaking after the race, Espargaro commented:
“Our pace was good all things considered. A shame what happened on the grid, but honestly, I feel bad because Morbidelli has picked up an injury. We were racing with some damage, and at the start it was OK, but the exhaust was dragging and the footpeg was getting more and more loose, so I had to retire. Overall, I am happy with what we have shown this weekend. Of course, it would have been great to have some more tangible rewards, but this can happen. Very happy with the work all Honda has done to end the year in this way.”

While the Valencia GP outcome was disappointing, Espargaro and the Honda HRC Test Team leave Spain on a positive note, demonstrating their competitiveness and team spirit ahead of the next season.
