Michelin presents the Design Your Motorcycle contest

Michelin presents the Design Your Motorcycle contest

The French tyre manufacturer decides to get into the customization world with the new Design Your Motorcycle contest.

Contests for customized motorcycles are popping everywhere. But now it’s Michelin who decided to get in this game. The French tyre manufacturer presents the Design Your Motorcycle contest, aimed at international bike builders. But this isn’t a contest just for professionals! Michelin wants everybody who loves customizing bikes to participate.

The Design Your Motorcycle contest is divided into three main categories:

– Cruiser Style: this category is for motorcycles that use tyres like the Michelin Commander or Scorcher. That means bikes from Harley-Davidson, Triumph, or Indian Motorcycle.

– Scrambler Vibes: this category is for bikes that have the retro feel and look, bikes for asphalt and off-road. These bikes are a perfect fit for the Michelin Anakee Adventure and Anakee Wild.

– Bike to the Future: a category for bikes that use more technology, with electric or combustion engines. For these bikes, Michelin uses the Road 5 and Power RS tyres.

The Michelin Design Your Motorcycle contest is an online event. That means that 50% of the final vote is online voting on a specific website by visitors. The other half of the final vote comes from a panel of professional people. The results will be revealed on Michelin social media pages.

There will be a final winner for each category. Michelin will then bring the winners to show their bikes to the public during the EICMA Milan motorcycle show in November.

The winners will become Michelin brand ambassadors for a year. And they’ll also get a pair of Michelin tyres to use on their customized bikes.

Anyone can enter the Design Your Motorcycle contest. But if you want in, you need to hurry! The registration is only open over the next 9 days on this website.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
