British rider set off in solo ride around the World

Henry Crew and the Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled will try to go around the World to set a new record and raise awareness for the Movember Foundation

It was yesterday, 3rd of April, that 22-year old British rider Henry Crew set off into an adventure ride around the World on his Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled. The adventure dubbed 35000 Miles, will take Henry to a new world record and at the same time duplicate as a charity event raising awareness to the Movember Foundation.

Henry Crew set off from the Bike Shed Motorcycle Club in London, England, and in order to set a new Guiness World Record for the youngest motorcyclist to circumnavigate the Globe, he will need to return with his Scrambler Desert Sled to England by Friday 10th of May 2019.

The journey will last approximately 13 months and will make Henry cover 35000 miles or 56.327 km, and that’s the reason this challenge is called 35000 Miles.

While attempting to register a new world record, Henry Crew is taking the opportunity to raise awareness to the Movember Foundation, which raises funds globally for research and support programs in the areas of prostate cancer, testicular cancer, men’s mental health and suicide prevention.

Henry got some advices from another adventure rider Charlie Boorman

This is a cause that’s close to Henry Crew’s heart, because not only he’s suffered from mental health issues during his time at university, but he also lost three friends to suicide.

Moments before he set off in this 35000 Miles solo adventure around the World, Henry Crew said that “I have been planning this journey for eight months and can’t think of a better charity partner for this trip than Movember. Not only have they created a great community which has existing connections with motorcycles, but they also fight for causes which are close to my heart – specifically mental health. I have had my own struggles with mental health, particularly during my time at university and have also experienced a scary amount of mental health issues within my friendship group”.
