After celebrating 75 years of racing history at Silverstone, MotoGP has landed in Spielberg, Austria. The Red Bull Ring, known for its challenging layout, is ready for another exciting chapter. This year’s theme, “Racing for the Future,” highlights the next generation of stars and technologies in the sport.

Press Conference Highlights

On Media Day, seven top riders shared their thoughts. They discussed strategies, expectations, and the pressure of competing at this level.

Press Conference 1:

Championship leader Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) was joined by his Ducati rivals. Francesco Bagnaia and Enea Bastianini from the Ducati Lenovo Team, along with Marc Marquez from Gresini Racing MotoGP, were present. The Ducati riders shared a mix of confidence and caution. Martin, fresh from his Silverstone victory, emphasized consistency.

“I think it is not that important to lead the Championship now,” Martin said. “The important thing is to build confidence.” Bagnaia, trailing Martin by just three points, agreed. He stressed the need for precision in the Red Bull Ring’s demanding layout. “Leading the Championship is like starting from zero again,” Bagnaia noted.

Enea Bastianini, showing strong form, expressed his determination. He aims to maintain the momentum he gained after his Sprint win at Silverstone. Marc Marquez acknowledged the challenge posed by his fellow Ducati riders. However, he vowed to “keep pushing, keep learning” as he adapts to his new machinery.

Press Conference 2:

The second session featured local heroes Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3) and Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing). Moto2™ star Ai Ogura also joined, fresh from his announcement with Trackhouse Racing for 2025.

Acosta spoke of the importance of upcoming races. He hopes to regain his early-season form. “The last few races were maybe a combination of factors,” Acosta said. “Counting Austria plus Aragon, Misano, and others will help us.”

Brad Binder, with a strong history at the Red Bull Ring, was eager to replicate past successes. “We always seem to find something at this Grand Prix every year,” he noted. Binder reflected on a season that started with promise. However, adjustments were needed to maintain competitiveness.

Ai Ogura was thrilled about his promotion to MotoGP. “It is really special, and I am happy to finally make this step,” Ogura said. He expressed gratitude to those who supported his journey from the Asia Talent Cup.

In the Paddock: News and Rumors

The paddock was buzzing with updates. Trackhouse Racing’s team manager, Davide Brivio, explained their decision to sign Ogura. Miguel Oliveira hinted at exciting possibilities for 2025. Jack Miller expressed optimism about his MotoGP future, despite the lack of a signed deal. Marc Marquez addressed Francesco Bagnaia’s comments about their potential partnership in 2025. He acknowledged the high stakes and unpredictability.

Fun and Games

The day wasn’t all business. Fans enjoyed a “Moped Mania” event, joining MotoGP stars for a 50cc lap around the Red Bull Ring. This lighthearted moment brought riders and fans closer together. It offered a break from the high-pressure atmosphere of the championship race.

As track action begins on Friday, eyes will be on the riders. The challenge is to turn Thursday’s confidence into race-winning performances. Stay tuned for more updates as the battle for the championship continues at the Red Bull Ring!
